An Intention of Healing

Welcome to a space created with intention, healing, and light. This is not a brand—it is a reminder that even in your hardest moments, you are still worthy, still strong, and still becoming.

Before you read my story, just know this: if you are here, you are not alone, and your light matters more than you think.

My Story — Own Your Light

My name is Julianna i am 18 years old a senior in highschool

Two years ago, my life changed in a way I never saw coming. But in truth, my journey with challenges didn’t start there.
I grew up with a learning disability and hypertonia—things that shaped how I learned, moved, and experienced the world from a young age. Early on, I understood what it felt like to struggle in ways people couldn’t always see. I learned how to push through, how to adapt, and how to keep going—even when things felt harder than they should.

As a baby, I was also diagnosed with hip dysplasia. I was treated with bracing, and I was always told that it was “fixed,” that everything was normal, and that it wouldn’t affect me later in life. But as I got older, I started to question that. Because I became incredibly active. I ran track, played field hockey, and cheered—I loved moving, pushing my body, and feeling strong.

Until one day, everything shifted. I began experiencing hip pain that no one could explain. Test after test came back “normal.” Doctor after doctor reassured me that everything looked fine. But I knew my body. And I knew something didn’t feel right. What made it even harder was that no one could see it. Because here’s the truth: not all disabilities are visible. And just because someone looks “fine” on the outside doesn’t mean they aren’t fighting something real every single day.

Being told that everything is “normal” while you’re still in pain is something that changes you. It makes you question yourself… until you learn to trust yourself again. I went from being constantly active to learning how to slow down, how to listen to my body, and how to live with something I couldn’t control—and couldn’t simply “fix.” And that didn’t just affect me physically—it affected me mentally, too.

There were moments where I felt frustrated, overwhelmed, and honestly… lost. I struggled with my mental health in ways I never had before. I questioned who I was without the things that once defined me. I felt disconnected from the version of myself I used to be. And when your pain isn’t visible, it can feel even more isolating—like you have to carry it quietly.

But somewhere in that darkness, something began to shift. I realized that even though I couldn’t change what was happening to me, I could change how I chose to respond to it. I could either hide it, fight it, and feel stuck in it forever—or I could embrace it and grow from it. That’s where Own Your Light was born.

This brand isn’t about pretending everything is perfect. It’s about showing up anyway. It’s about choosing self-love on the hard days. It’s about speaking openly about mental health, especially when it’s tied to struggles people can’t always see. It’s about understanding that your struggles—whether visible or invisible—are real, valid, and worthy of compassion.

You don’t have to prove your pain to anyone. You don’t have to “look” like you’re struggling for it to be real. Your story matters. Your feelings matter. You matter.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: you may not be able to change everything you go through, but you can choose to embrace it, grow through it, and still shine in your own way. That is what it means to Own Your Light.
